Published: Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 - 11:30 am

A documentary video about fighting underage drinking airs tonight at the Folsom Police Department.

The video, “Wasted: The Truth about Underage Drinking in Sacramento,” portrays the realities of youth access to alcohol, problems of binge drinking and community strategies to solving alcohol-related problems.

The documentary was shot over the course of a year with the aid of the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health.

Local students showcased in the film are expected to attend, and members of the Folsom Police Department Special Investigation Unit will talk about recent decoy operations that have produced arrests.

The department and the Sacramento County office of Education also conducted a campaign aimed at ensuring that store clerks ask for identification during alcohol sales. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District also participated in the effort.

The program starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Police Department, 46 Natoma St., Folsom.
