One more day of dry weather remains before two weather systems bring what is expected to be more than an inch of rain to the Sacramento region.
Another day of mild temperatures is forecast Tuesday with readings in the Central Valley to again exceed 70 degrees. But the weather pattern changes on Wednesday as a frontal system brings a good shot of rain.
The Wednesday storm is forecast to bring .67 of an inch of rain in Sacramento, with one-to-two inches of precipitation in the foothills and mountains. Look for most of the rain to hit in the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday.
Sierra snow levels will remain high with up to a foot of white stuff above 7,000-feet elevation.
The change in the weather does not stop there. On Friday, a stronger, wetter and cooler storm is forecast to arrive, according to the National Weather Service. The more potent system is expected to arrive Friday morning with the heaviest precipitation occurring mid-day Friday.
