Baked Bree celebrates a 4th birthday

I started Baked Bree when I really needed something to do and focus on. A hobby. I had just shut down my photography business and wanted to focus on my family. I decided to chronicle family recipes and keep track of what I cooked online. I thought that maybe my mom and my best friend might take a look at it. I had no idea that it would become what it is today – a business that has allowed me to meet incredible people, see many new places and do some pretty freakin’ amazing things.

Week 1 was easier than I thought.

Week 2 was tougher, but I only had minor slips.

Week 3 – I’ve lost interest.

Meanwhile, what do I think about my overall diet at this point? Well I’ve learned that I can survive without meat, dairy, and grains pretty well. If I can continue that from now on, that’s a win. After all, I had to have meat every day before and RARELY ever did a meatless day. I can also try to keep this willpower up enough to do less or lower sugar desserts. The test will be to see if I can convert from sweets and meat every day to sweets and meats only one or two days a week – as treats.

Here’s a burger that’s sure to hit the spot all over the country right about now. Where we live, in Central California, it’s 70 degrees and the trees think it’s spring already. I’ve heard tales of this “snow” stuff everywhere else in the country. While we might be grilling burgers here, these spicy Sriracha chili sauce-laced burgers are sure to warm up everyone else –whether you have to cook them indoors or not.
