The Kings are working on a buyout with popular guard Jimmer Fredette, whose career never took off in Sacramento after he was a first-round draft pick in 2011.

Pregame notes: Roster moves to finish season likely to begin with Fredette buyout

The Kings are playing perhaps the hottest team in the NBA, but Jimmer Fredette dominated coach Michael Malone’s pregame chat.

The Kings are negotiating a buyout with Fredette, the popular 2011 first round draft pick. Fredette will not be at the game.

Fredette did attend this morning’s shootaround, where the team sang happy birthday to him. Today is Fredette’s 25th birthday.

The buyout is not official, but the Kings are moving to find players to fill in on the roster.

There’s also this:

Johnson was recently waived by Indiana.

Prediction time: Fredette news aside, the Houston Rockets are in town and they’re playing well. And Houston does not want to lose three of four to the Kings this season.

Rockets 105, Kings 100

My record: 33-23
