Re "Ruling swats down an arena vote" (Page A1, Feb. 27): We've been framed. Before Arco Arena was even 25 years old, Mayor Kevin Johnson and the Maloofs framed the arena as aging. Yet for nearly twice as long, we will be paying on debt to these new billionaires for a new arena. And who pays? Not so much Kings fans. Many of them do not live in the city. Johnson intimates that more than 22,000 Sacramento citizens are outsiders, simply for wanting to vote, while he and Kings owners Shaquille O'Neal, from Los Angeles, Vivek Ranadive, from the Silicon Valley, stand against them. Johnson follows an opportunistic path sweeping aside democratic processes.
