Re "Ruling swats down an arena vote" (Page A1, Feb. 27): Mayor Kevin Johnson says outsiders have tried to undermine the right of Sacramento to control the destiny of its downtown.
I have lived in downtown-midtown for nearly 20 years. My opinion should count for more than that of Carmichael Dave or any of the other out-of-towners, including wealthy people from the Silicon Valley.
Johnson and the city council didn't care about my opinion, nor the opinion of the tens of thousands of other city residents who simply wanted the right to vote on the largest expenditure of city funds in history.
Perhaps they will care about taxpayers' opinions when we vote them all out of office in the next election cycle for turning over our downtown and our funds to the outsiders.
