Citizenship doesn't provide immunity to terrorists

Re "Attack on US-born militant weighed" (Feb. 28): Even if Abdullah al-Shami was born in the United States and, by such, is legally an American citizen, he gave up his citizenship when he committed treason.

As an enemy of the state, he should be treated like any other terrorist who plots to kill Americans or attack American interests here and abroad. Why should there be any question as to whether he should be targeted in a drone attack?
