Re "City Ignored its Residents" (Letters, March 1): Surely if 23,000 valid signatures were recorded, there are many times that number of insiders who would vote against the funding scheme.
I also disagree with the editorial staff's characterization of those of us who wish the judge had ruled differently as distraught folks who by implication need to get over it. Far from distraught, I'm happy with what STOP accomplished, despite hurdle after hurdle being placed in its way. Thanks to its efforts, we saw just how desperate Mayor Kevin Johnson and his people were to avoid a vote by us insiders, knowing full well how little support there is for the funding plan.
