VS. PELICANS (23-36)
• Time: 7 p.m.
• Where: Sleep Train Arena
• TV/radio: CSNCA, NBA, 1140, 950
• 1. Stop giving: The Kings allowed 27 points off 19 turnovers in Saturday’s loss to Minnesota, the latest game in which their mistakes gave an opponent plenty of scoring chances. The Kings are not good enough to expect to win when they play carelessly.
• 2. Consistent effort: The defense cannot slack off, even with two of the Pelicans’ best players, Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson, out because of injuries. Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans are capable of producing big numbers. Evans could be a major problem if matched up against smaller guards.
• 3. 20-20-20 Club: DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas are averaging at least 20 points, but no other King is averaging in double figures. Finding a fourth scorer would go a long way toward ending the Kings’ three-game losing streak.
