Rain forecast for Monday, Wednesday after a wet February

As two other systems appear poised to dampen Northern California this week beginning Monday, the numbers are in for February and they are good and wet.

Downtown Sacramento: 4.49 inches in February, 122 percent of normal for the month

Redding: 8.08 inches, 147 percent of normal

Red Bluff: 6.41 inches, 158 percent of normal

Marysville: 4.95 inches, 146 percent of normal

Sacramento’s Executive Airport: 4.14, 119 percent of normal

Vacaville: 6.94 inches, 147 percent of normal

Stockton: 2.87 inches, 113 percent of normal

Modesto: 2.42 inches, 102 percent of normal

Rainfall for Sacramento, after Sunday’s soaker, stands at 6.62 inches of rainfall, which is 43 percent of normal for the rainfall year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.

The National Weather Service forecasts rain to develop once again Monday over a large part of the north state and continue tonight. Another weather system could affect the region later Wednesday.

Forecasters predict a half inch of rain will be possible from each system. The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Rain likely, mainly after 11 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 64. South southeast wind 7 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tonight: Rain, mainly before 5 a.m. Low around 53. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Light and variable wind.

Tuesday night: A 20 percent chance of rain after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 6 to 9 mph.

Wednesday night: Rain. Low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Sunday: A chance of rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
