Two people were arrested after stolen property, an imitation firearm and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found in their vehicle when an Auburn police officer pulled them over for a vehicle code violation.

The officer stopped a green Ford Explorer on Elm Avenue at High Street about 12:17 a.m. Sunday and found the driver with a compressed air-powered, pellet-projecting handgun on his lap, according to a Police Department news release. The pellet gun was identical in appearance to a firearm, police said.

As the driver was removed from the vehicle, a methamphetamine smoking pipe was located inside the Explorer. A search of the vehicle also turned up burglary tools and property reported stolen from vehicles in two separate cases, police said.

The driver, identified as Andrew Devan Lichty (pictured), 23, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property, possession of an imitation firearm in a vehicle, possession of burglary tools and possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe.

The passenger, Crystal Spirit Hubanks, 20, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property and possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe.
