Detectives investigate drive-by shooting that critically injured man in Arden Arcade

Published: Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2014 - 5:28 pm

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Monday morning drive-by shooting in Arden Arcade that left a man critically injured.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Bowman said several calls were received about 2:40 a.m. reporting shots fired and someone screaming for help in the 3700 block of Morse Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found a man in his 20s with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Bowman said detectives have not been able to talk with the man because of his medical condition, which is listed as critical but stable. Because they have not been able to interview the victim, investigators have not been able to identify a suspect or determine whether the victim knew the shooter.

Detectives have been following up on surveillance video in the area and witness statements, Bowman said.
