Re "Putin takes Crimea without firing a shot" (Viewpoints, March 7): Neocons still lust for more war, but most Americans are sick and tired of it, a fact that columnist Charles Krauthammer ignores.
Another fact he chooses to ignore is that we are not dealing with Grenada or Panama in Crimea. Nor are we confronting Vietnam, Afghanistan, or Iraq. Krauthammer is toying with military action against a major nuclear power, second or third-strongest on the planet.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions suggest genuine irrationality. We dare not match his insanity with our own. Cooler heads must prevail here, despite the inability of neocons to see the difference between common sense and cowardice.
