MURPHYS

In the foothills and feeling Irish

Every St. Patrick’s Day weekend, thousands flock to the historic Gold Rush town of Murphys for its all-day celebration.

Festivities kick off Saturday with a pancake breakfast, and at 11 a.m., a parade of marching bands, bagpipes, horses and community organizations take over Main Street. Enjoy live entertainment, purchase Irish fare and view a variety of art while the little ones get their faces painted and hop on ponies. Activities wind down at 5 p.m.
