Re "Faithful Discuss Climate Change" (Our Region, Mar. 9): Bee staff writer Stephen Magagnini covered a faith and climate change forum event this past weekend. The story focused on the faith portion of the event, in which local Presbyterian, Buddhist, Islamic, and Jewish leaders discussed the importance of preserving the environment in their respective faiths. Members of the group Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) presented a discussion of climate science and solutions.

I spoke about the 97% expert consensus and evidence that humans are causing global warming, and Jerry Hinkle spoke about the non-partisan solution supported by the grassroots organization CCL: a revenue-neutral carbon tax. Readers can find more information about the Sacramento CCL chapter at http://www.sacramentoccl.org/.

It was exciting to see these faith and climate groups come together to discuss our common goals of preserving the environment and a livable climate. If we all work together, we can solve this problem.
