Re "Shaq feted on 25th anniversary of prep title" (Sideline Chatter, March 9): Shaquille O'Neal's career has been successful. But not to challenge his revisionist take on the lessons learned in high school is a joke.

He said lessons learned at Cole High School included being humble, playing hard, working with your teammates.

Shaq learned to be humble? In what universe? Shaq's biggest fan has always been Shaq. Shaq's favorite topic has always been Shaq.

Shaq was an amazing athlete. But the need to rewrite his personal history must mean Shaq knows what an egocentric and selfish man he will be remembered as, in addition to his hall of fame career.
