‘Week’ of brew comes to a head with Beer Fest

The 11th and final day of Sacramento Beer Week saw the crowd shown below convene at Capitol Mall on Sunday afternoon for the 4th annual Capitol Beer Fest. More than 100 craft breweries were represented, offering in excess of 300 varieties of brew. According to the organizers, every Sacramento-area brewery participated, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Runnin’ for Rhett Youth Fitness Program. At top, Dan Scott, the event’s founder and director, holds one of the festival’s signature glasses. Sacramento resident Spencer Wile, above, gets into a promotion featuring Anchor California Lager, the San Francisco brewery’s re-creation of Gold Rush-era suds.
