In 2010, two high school teens were shot and killed at a barn dance in Wilton by two individuals who were not identified. Did they ever find the shooter or shooters?

No arrests have been reported in the March 20, 2010, shooting deaths of Marlon Maurice Aguilar Morales, 18, and Christopher Alexander Valdes, 19, both of Elk Grove.

According to stories in The Bee, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies and Elk Grove police officers responded to the 1100 block of Rising Road in Wilton about 1:45 a.m., and found the two men with gunshot wounds lying on the ground outside a barn next to the home. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told sheriff’s homicide investigators that up to 60 people were attending a party inside the barn. The party began to break up about 1:30 a.m. when a group of about a dozen uninvited people showed up. They became angry when asked to leave, and several began to fight with Morales and Valdes. During the struggle, which lasted just a few seconds, someone fired a gun.

Witnesses were unable to identify the people responsible for the shooting or the vehicle in which they fled.
