Derrick Williams will start at power forward for the Kings tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.

Pregame notes: Kings change the starting lineup again

The Kings will try out their third different starting lineup in as many games tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers as they attempt to end a three-game losing streak.

Derrick Williams will start at power forward tonight, replacing Reggie Evans. The rest of the starters remain the same: Isaiah Thomas and Ben McLemore at guard; Rudy Gay at small forward; and DeMarcus Cousins at center.

• Before the game, Kings coach Michael Malone said benching Jason Thompson was about finding a spark for a flat starting group, not blaming Thompson for the recent struggles. Malone said he hoped Thompson could add some offense to the second unit, which has struggled to score lately.

• Malone said benching Thomas late against Detroit on Tuesday night was done to get playing time for Ray McCallum, who had not played in the second half until he replaced Thomas.

Prediction time: It would seem impossible for the Kings to lose to the Sixers, who have lost 17 consecutive games and are in full “next-season” mode.

If the Kings lose tonight, the strife of this season has completely overtaken the locker room.

Kings 115, Sixers 99

My record: 38-25 (minus the game missed due to travel issues.)
