Thaddeus Young had a good game for the Philadelphia 76ers in Sacramento back in January, when they beat the Kings.

Young scored 28 points in the win.

That wasn’t the case Wednesday as Young had just 16 points on 5-for-18 shooting as the Kings won 115-98 at Wells Fargo Center.

“I thought Derrick did an excellent job guarding Thaddeus Young,” said Kings coach Michael Malone. “Young was the one guy I was worried about coming into this game, and I thought Derrick’s defense on Thaddeus was excellent tonight.”

*Williams’ effort, however does not guarantee him a start Saturday at Chicago. Malone said he hadn’t decided how he’d match up against Chicago’s bigger frontcourt. Reggie Evans started at Detroit at power forward.

*The Kings have 11 wins against Eastern Conference teams this season. Five have been by 17 or more points, including the win at Philadelphia.

*The Kings attempted 50 free throws. Rudy Gay had career highs for free throws attempted (17) and made (15).
