Re "Paid leaves, sadly, are right for senators" (Viewpoints, March 9): Loyola Law School professor Jessica A. Levinson says in her op-ed that indicted Sen. Ron Calderon and convicted Sen. Rod Wright will keep their jobs and spend the rest of their terms of office on paid leaves of absence courtesy of the taxpayers. But the issue is not whether the senators should be allowed to keep their salaries absent a vote for expulsion. The issue is why hasn't the Senate voted to expel them? In failing to address the real issue, Levinson misses the mark.
