Gatsby’s Diner in Sacramento closes doors

Published: Monday, Mar. 17, 2014 - 10:46 am

Gatsby’s Diner, the Sacramento eatery known for its gourmet burgers and a grilling station situated right in the middle of the restaurant’s dining area, closed its doors on Sunday.

Gatsby’s opened five years ago at 2598 Alta Arden Expressway in the Arden Arcade area.

Co-owner David Perez said the restaurant’s growth in popularity made managing it a 24/7 endeavor, and the owners needed “a break” and might try something else, maybe even a food truck.

The restaurant was once featured on the Food Network’s “Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives,” hosted by Northern California restaurateur Guy Fieri.
