Full line-up announced for SactoMoFo 7

Mobile food enthusiasts, mark your calendars for April 26. SactoMoFo 7 will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 6th and W streets, and in this latest edition will round up some 30 vendors that includes local favorites and some new mobile food vendors as well.

Among the newcomers are Fresno’s Dusty Buns, which specialize in gourmet sandwiches and a Central Valley hit. Ciao Chow, a local Italian-Asian truck which recently went online, will also make its SactoMoFo debut with a menu that spans spaghetti and meatballs, Thai braised pork sandwiches, Moroccan chicken and more. Cruizin’ Crustacean, a relatively new seafood truck run by the folks at Rudy’s Hideaway, will also be featured.

While food trucks and healthy eating might sound like a culinary oxymoron, SactoMoFo 7 will add more vegetarian and vegan food options.

“We’ve listened loud and clear to the vegetarians,” said Paul Somerhausen, co-founder of SactoMoFo. “One of the trucks we’ll be bringing is Hella Vegan Eats.”

SactoMoFo 7 news arrives as the City Council’s Law and Legislation Committee will debate a proposed ordinance of food truck “pods” which would allow mobile food vending for extended periods of time. Making city ordinances more food truck friendly has been slow going over the past couple years, though the popularity of mobile food round-ups like SactoMoFo show no signs of waning. SactoMoFo 6 in April of 2013 attracted a record 8,000 folks.

Parking at SactoMoFo 7 will cost $5, or free with a donation to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. The event will also include live music for working off those grilled sandwiches and tacos, plus a beer garden that features local brews and more.
