Re: "The Ukrainian invasion will be catered" (Viewpoints, March 21): Charles Krauthammer writes, Why did we deny Ukraine weapons? Because in President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry's worldview, arming the victim might be taken as provocation.
Putin's actions in the Crimea are criminal, but as with so many conservative responses to overseas conflicts, Krauthammer has opened his toolbox and finds only hammers.
We can and should work with the European Union countries to punish Putin where it really hurts: the pocket book. Economic sanctions brought Iran to its knees, and as the ruble starts to fall in value, Putin's dream of further expansion will become very costly.
