Lake Tahoe is not stabilizing

Re "Trend is said to be positive after clarity measurement" (Page B2, March 14): Your story was about the middle of the lake, not the shoreline most people see. The shoreline water quality is deteriorating into more muck, more bright green algae floats and more long, stringy algae stuck on piers, rocks and boats. It's way more than it used to be, and it's a mess.

The Bee should write about the horrors of what people actually see in the lake.

With the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency stamping its approval on large new resorts, hotels and endless pavement near the lake, and the shoreline turning uglier, Tahoe will be just another mountain lake that could have been saved, but isn't.
