Re "Romney slams Obama for 'faulty judgment' on Russia" (Sacbee.com, March 23): Poor Mitt Romney just can't get over his loss. After his international tour during which he made a fool of himself prior to the election, he is the last person to criticize anyone, let alone President Barack Obama.
There is really nothing that the U.S. could do. Crimea was, now is, and has been part of Russia since Catherine the Great. Crimea has become the Florida of Russia. Most of the Russian population there are retirees.
I rarely see mentioned, when talking about the expulsion of the Tatars, how they collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of Russians, Ukrainians, Jews and others.
