Re "Kashkari will push tax breaks" (Capitol & California, March 25): I find it funny that so much is being made out of the $20 million in Gov. Jerry Brown's bid to buy the election versus Republican Neel Kashkari, who barely has a million.
It wasn't that long ago the same people labeled Meg Whitman as a rich Republican. Jerry Brown is a rich Democratic multi-millionaire by being a lifelong public servant. To condemn Kashkari as a rich Republican is hypocritical. At least he has made it through the school of hard knocks, both public and private.
I'm ready for new ideas. Even Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom would be a fresh change. Time for these lifelong politicians to step aside.
