Be careful what you vote for

Why have the residents of the Carmichael Parks and Recreation District been sent a ballot to vote on an assessment within the district when their vote will have little or no meaning?

The voting for this ballot is weighted. Since each property has votes based on their assessed value, a homeowner would have 44 votes as the assessment for them is $44.

The San Juan School District has an assessment of $6,308 so they would get 6,308 votes. These nonresidential public funded property owners will have many more votes than the residential property owners because their properties have a much larger assessed value than the residential properties, but they will not have to pay the tax that they are voting for us to pay. The San Juan School District has already voted yes on this assessment.

Homeowners beware, this is happening over and over again.
