Law enforcement officials escaped injury after a Pollock Pines man called 911 threatening to blow up his home, then apparently did as authorities arrived.
The man, who is not being identified, was in the home at the time of the explosion about 3 p.m., but was pulled out by rescuers and taken via ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center, said Sgt. Chris Felton, a spokesman for the El Dorado County Sheriffs Office. The extent of his injures are unclear, Felton said.
There were no other injuries, Felton said. The home was in the 6000 block of Pony Express Trail. Felton said he could not offer details of the 911 call.
