Re "Changed life Takes U-turn" (Page A1, March 29): Can The Bee explain why it chose to plaster a half-page picture of alleged ex-gangster and former prison inmate Raymond Chow on the front page of its March 29 edition? Not only is it appalling, it's also a slap in the face to law enforcement, law-abiding citizens and victims of gang violence.
According to the Bee, alleged ex-gangster Chow has already served federal and state prison time for crimes such as robbery, assault with a firearm, arson and racketeering involving murder for hire. Chow is now in federal custody and facing eight felony counts.
Instead of feeding Chow what he and other gangsters crave, I challenge The Bee to report on youngsters who abandoned the gang culture and are now productive and law-abiding members of society, unlike the career criminal Chow, who remains a threat to society.
