Re "Park District awaits vote" (Our Region, March 31): Forty-five dollars a year may seem like a small amount, but there seems to be a constant stream of tax and fee increases in which I have no say. Each entity makes these increases in a vacuum, with no regard to other increases. Politicians seem to think there is an endless supply of money. The cost of living is going up, and the average person is always looking for ways to cut back.
Carmichael homeowners pay more than $400 annually over and above their regular property taxes to service three school bonds. Now the park district and Metro Fire want to tack on more? Where will it end?
