AT&T said Wednesday that it is looking to hire about 31 employees in Sacramento and another 15 in West Sacramento as part of a nationwide push to hire more than 3,000 retail employees over the next several months.

The company said the hiring blitz is designed to meet growing demand at its retail stores.

“Our customers expect a high level of service when they walk into our stores, so we are investing in our workforce to ensure we are providing just that,” said Paul Roth, president of retail sales and service for AT&T Mobility.

With 243,000 employees, AT&T is one of the largest employers in the country. The company said it is hiring in growth areas that include wireless, video, cloud services, sales and mobility applications.
