Sacramento is about to heat up.
The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will reach the 80-degree range in the next few days as high pressure builds in the region. Saturday’s high temperature will hover around 72 degrees.
“We’re going to be a few degrees above normal today,” said Drew Peterson, weather service forecaster. “But the trend continues and ramps up significantly Sunday with low-80s. It will further amplify on Monday with mid-80s. The late spring-type weather is coming a little early.”
The warm and sunny streak is bad news for the region, which is still stuck in a drought. Though the April 1 rain brought precipitation to 53 percent of normal, Peterson said, “We’re still in a pretty large deficit.”
