Kings game plan vs. Dallas Mavericks

TODAY’S GAME

KINGS (27-49) VS. MAVERICKS (46-31)

Time: 3 p.m.

Where: Sleep Train Arena

TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140, 950

THREE KEYS

1. Opening intensity: The Kings fell behind quickly Friday at Golden State. Facing another team in playoff contention, the Kings must be ready from the start or they’ll fall behind big again.

2. Cunningham contribution: Ray McCallum has played a lot in place of Isaiah Thomas, who has missed six games because of a right quadriceps contusion. The Kings might use Jared Cunningham more to make sure McCallum has enough energy late in the game. Cunningham also can back up Ben McLemore at shooting guard.

3. Thrill from the bench: Derrick Williams scored a career-high 31 points against Dallas in December as a starter. The Kings need him to come out aggressively on a second unit that needs his scoring.
