Skier killed in Tahoe accident

A Southern California man was killed in a skiing accident around 11 a.m. Sunday at Northstar California ski resort, the Placer County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The victim, Marc L. Coleman, 67, of Van Nuys, was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel from North Tahoe Fire, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Dena Erwin.

She said investigators believe Coleman struck a tree. He was wearing a helmet, she added.

The incident took placed on one of the resort’s advanced ski trails, according to a Northstar release.
