Mike Fucito, Justin Braun and Thomas Stewart scored goals to lead Republic FC to a 3-1 victory over the Chivas USA Reserves on Monday at StubHub Center Track Stadium in Carson.

It was the first victory for the USL Pro expansion franchise. The Republic FC tied LA Galaxy II 1-1 in its inaugural match on March 29, with Braun scoring the team’s only goal.

The Chivas USA Reserves don’t play in USL Pro, but the match counts as a regular-season game in the league’s standings.

Republic FC’s next match is Saturday at Orange County Blues FC at UC Irvine’s Anteater Stadium, followed by a match Sunday at LA Galaxy II at StubHub Center Track Stadium.

Republic FC’s first home match is April 26 against the Harrisburg City Islanders at Hughes Stadium. The team is expected to make its debut at a new facility at Cal Expo on June 7 against Arizona United SC.
