Sacramento police seek possible witness to fatal Land Park crash

Published: Monday, Apr. 7, 2014 - 3:57 pm

Sacramento police investigators are trying to locate a possible witness to a Feb. 13 collision on Riverside Boulevard in which a woman was killed and her husband seriously injured.

Floyd Adam Martin Jr., 57, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter in connection with the death of Linda Shaw, 66. Her husband, who was her passenger, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said Martin, who also was injured in the crash, was northbound on Riverside Boulevard about 10:53 a.m. when his vehicle collided with the car driven by Shaw, who was entering the intersection westbound on Swanston Drive.

Police investigators would like to speak with a possible witness who was driving a dark-colored minivan northbound on Riverside Boulevard just before the collision. Police say one of the vehicles involved in the collision may have passed this van just before the collision. The driver of the van was described as a white woman with long dark hair and is believed to be in her mid-30s, according to a Police Department news release.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the possible witness is asked to call the Police Department’s dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357, or text a tip to 274637 by entering SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
