Kings game plan vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Published: Monday, Apr. 7, 2014 - 10:26 pm

TODAY’S GAME

KINGS (27-50) VS. THUNDER (55-21)

• Time: 7 p.m.

• Where: Sleep Train Arena

• TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140

THREE KEYS

• 1. Start fast: The Kings start slow too often, looking unprepared and uninspired, and it has cost them games. The coaches and players need to figure out how to come out energized from the start.

• 2. Rattled rookies: Guards Ray McCallum and Ben McLemore are shooting a combined 8 for 42 in the last two games. Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins carry the offense, but McCallum and McLemore have to be bigger scoring threats.

• 3. Effort plays: The Thunder is clearly a better team so the Kings cannot lose the “hustle” categories such as second-chance points and getting back defensively.
