Very warm temperatures are forecast for Tuesday, but a record high in Sacramento is not likely.
The afternoon high today is expected to be 87 degrees, the warmest day of the week and about 17 degrees above normal for early April in Sacramento. The all-time maximum for April 8 is 91 degrees, a mark set in 1989.
After Tuesday, the strong high pressure system will begin to weaken just enough to slightly lower temperatures. However, the daily maximums are still expected to linger in the 80s.
