Solar industry veterans launch new energy firm in Auburn

Two solar industry veterans have launched Enable Energy, a technology, product development and business strategy consulting firm in Auburn.

Co-founders Eric Hafter and Todd Lindstrom said the company includes a team with broad renewable energy experience to accelerate the deployment of solar photovoltaic and thermal technologies, energy efficient lighting and energy storage. The firm currently employs about a dozen workers.

“Our team has hundreds of successful solar installations and product launches around the world, but we wanted to form our company and hire talent here at home in the Sacramento region,” Lindstrom said. “We are proud to contribute to the region’s status as a clean tech leader.”

“Projects that are otherwise well funded and approved often languish due to problems dealing with installation issues,” Hafter added. “We create solutions through technology innovations, the assembly of funds and financing solutions, and by tackling regulatory issues on behalf of our clients.”

Hafter’s background includes stints at PowerLight Corp. (now part of SunPower Corp. of San Jose), Sharp Electronics’ Solar Division for the Americas and Solar Power Inc. Lindstrom’s business background also includes Sharp and SPI, as well as the Roseville firm of Paramount Solar, which was acquired by San Mateo-based SolarCity Corp. last year.
