I feel labels are urgently needed because basic plants like corn, soy and canola oil are being altered through genetic modification changing nutritional, genetic and toxicological features. Since 1996, when GM crops were introduced, there has been a 527 million pound increase recorded in the use of herbicides. This year the GM crops used 20 percent more pesticides than non-GM crops.
Teachers are seeing an increase in autism. We have ruled out vaccinations, so we should look at a correlation to GMOs. Equally disturbing is the increase in Alzheimer's. Older people and children both have weaker immune systems, less resilience to stressors and toxins. GMO corn is classified as a pesticide ( FDA). Please endorse the SB 1381 to vote for labeling GMO's.
