Re "Governor way out in front of rivals" (Page A1, April 9): I'm sorry, Jerry Brown and Kamala Harris should have been kicked out of office years ago. They took an oath of office to defend the laws of the state. When they decided not to defend Proposition 8, which was a bad law, but a California law nonetheless, they gave up their elected positions.
Only the Supreme Court can decide if a law is bad and should be rejected, but I guess people don't care about the law unless it suits their purposes. It's no wonder that there is a society of scofflaws when even our elected officials can ignore any law they like.
