Women escape injury when shots hit car at Elk Grove park

Shots were fired at two women sitting in a car near Elk Grove’s Lewis Park early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The two women were in a car parked at Heather Gate Way and Rose Point Court about 2:10 a.m. Wednesday when the shots were fired by a man they knew. The car was hit by the gunfire, but the women were not injured.

The shots came from a 1990s, white Ford Mustang with two men inside. The Mustang and the suspected shooter have not been found.
