Previously convicted sex offender headed back to prison

Published: Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2014 - 6:25 pm

A man with a previous conviction for sex offenses has been sentenced in Sacramento Superior Court to 10 years in prison for persuading a minor to engage in a commercial sex act.

Kristopher Kilpatrick, 26, is also required to register as a sex offender, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.

Officials said Kilpatrick began dating the 17-year-old victim and then persuaded her to work as a prostitute, pimping her for more than two months. He posted photos of her in various states of undress to advertise her as a prostitute on the Internet, and the victim gave all the money she earned to Kilpatrick.

Authorities said Kilpatrick admitted during a recorded jail conversation that he maintained a relationship with the victim because she “put money in his pocket.”

Kilpatrick was convicted and sent to prison in 2007 for molesting a 13-year-old girl.
