Suspects sought in Rocklin shooting, robbery

Published: Sunday, Apr. 20, 2014 - 3:18 pm

Rocklin police are looking for two suspects who allegedly shot one teenager, and robbed another in front of a home Friday night.

The shooting victim, who was only identified as a male in his late teens from Sacramento County, was taken to a local hospital. He had been shot in the foot. The robbery victim, who was also described as a male in his late teens from Sacramento County, had minor injuries, but did not need medical treatment.

The two victims, and the two suspects had gone to the home after they learned through Instagram that a large “party” was being held in the 1600 block of Abilene Circle, even though the event was a small private affair.

“A young adult in town had invited a handful of friends to her house, and they were all people she knew,” said Sgt. Tom Dwyer with Rocklin police. “Somehow, that got posted in social media and it spread like wildfire, and people arrived from out of the county.”

However, only people who were personally invited were allowed inside the home.

Amid the crowd that arrived, one of the victims claimed that he was grabbed, thrown onto the ground, and robbed of his wallet, car keys and cell phone. The other was shot in the foot with an unknown type of firearm. After the incident, the two suspects fled in an unknown vehicle.
