Capitol adds some polish at 14th annual “salon oasis”

The cutting going at the Capitol on Monday afternoon was not budget-related, as hairstylists, barbers and manicurists from the Professional Beauty Federation of California hosted their 14th annual “salon oasis” for legislators and their staff. About 250 people showed for the free grooming, according to the trade group’s legal counsel, Fred Jones, who said the event is an opportunity to showcase and discuss the beauty industry. “It’s a captive audience for us,” he said.
