San Jose-based First Security Services said it has acquired Bayer Protective Services, a nearly 20-year-old Sacramento company that specializes in providing security services for commercial and industrial properties.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

First Security officials said Bayer employs around 100, and the local company will retain its name. Officials also said that Bayer’s key managers will remain in place, including Bryon Bayer, the local company’s founder and president.

“This new relationship provides our brands greater depth and solidifies our footprints in the state capital and Central Valley areas,” said Cal Horton, First Security’s president and CEO. “Likewise, Bayer now has the opportunity to expand services for his existing clients throughout Northern California.”

First Security, which employs more than 800 in eight Northern California branches, offers a wide range of security services, including mobile patrols, alarm response and executive protection.
