Re "Tesla should return state's favor" (Dan Morain, April 20): As a gear head captivated by Tesla's bold engineering, build quality and stunning performance, it's gratifying to see Elon Musk's efforts bringing him such success, especially in California.
Look at how much business and employment Musk has brought to this state. With Tesla manufacturing and support operations, Space-X endeavors and his solar businesses thriving, you'd think Musk would be considered a hero. Yet, considering Dan Morain's critical editorial and Ohman's Tesla-lampooning cartoon, it's clear where The Bee stands on the Tesla battery factory location issue.
With all this posturing, has anyone at The Bee considered the likelihood that it's actually California environmental regulations that may be forcing Tesla to build its advanced Gigawatt battery factory out of state, rather than locating it closer to the car plant?
