Need for water education

Re "Field Poll: Drought Responses Split California" (April 16): This poll highlights the need to educate Californians. While the option in the poll, "users not using existing supplies efficiently" has validity, this is attributed to wasteful output.

The "not enough water storage and supply facilities' does not effect water reserves if there is no water for these facilities to hold" option makes it sound like there is water. I live very close to the source of the south fork of the American River, and it’s hard for me to see polls like this when streams run dry and rivers are lower than ever.

Educating voters on climate change and water policy is an issue here. I'm in my mid 20s, and I'm not ready to see our environment pushed aside due to irresponsible water policy because it's my generation and the ones after that will truly pay for these actions.
