Re "Blizzard of baffling forms in family court" (Viewpoints, April 26): Thank you, Professor John E.B. Myers. But you forgot to mention that Judge James Mize and his minions, including the social workers, don't read the hundreds of forms the court requires you to fill out. God forbid you show up with no lawyer. As a consequence of the judge not reading those lengthy forms that you are required to fill out as he processes you through his court, it's possible to make some fatal and long impacting decisions regarding families. My daughter's ex was a drug addict, with a history of felonies all explained in the paperwork we spent hours trying to fill out. He received shared legal custody along with spousal support until he got busted, and sent back to jail all in front of his son, as my daughter had pleaded and feared. If only the judge would have read some of those required forms. Get a good lawyer.
